Fed: Greece was prepared to look at extradition treaty: Kerr

SYDNEY, Jan 17 AAP - The Greek government had indicated as recently as last month that
it was prepared to make changes to its extradition treaty with Australia, the federal
Opposition said today.

A provision within the treaty - the "national exception" clause - was the stumbling
block in the federal government's failed bid to extradite Greek-Australian Steve Anas,
acquitted today by a Greek court on charges of masterminding the murder of Sydney mother
Toula Soravia.
